Space grid is a spatial structure formed by connecting multiple rods with joints in a certain grid form. These basic elements can be combined into a plane shape of a triangle, a quadrilateral, a hexagon, a circle or any other shape. From the shape, the grid can be divided into flat grid, curved grid (spherical shell, cylindrical shell) and various special-shaped grid.
Advantages of grid structure
Space grid has advantages of space stress, light weight, high stiffness and good seismic performance. It is mainly used in large and medium span public buildings, such as stadiums, gymnasiums, theaters, hangars, clubs, exhibition halls, station waiting halls and industrial plants. The larger the span, the more significant the superiority and economic effect of this structure. Therefore, it can be used in large, medium and small span roof system.
